In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Save On Medical will be donating $5 for every procedure booked on their website during October to Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a group dedicated to “empowering all women affected by breast cancer to live as long as possible with the best quality of life.”
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, we at Save On Medical decided we needed to do something impactful to make a difference during this month when everyone across the world is going PINK. We know there are a number of amazing foundations and groups that do great work for survivors and sufferers of breast cancer, raising millions of dollars to help stop it in it’s tracks, but we were instantly drawn to Living Beyond Breast Cancer. LBBC helps individuals directly affected by breast cancer and provides programs of support for them, their friends and family. They are founded on the precept that playing an active role in ongoing recovery leads to better quality of life and resilience regardless of your level of education, background, social standing or financial means.
This is why, during the month of October, Save On Medical will be making a $5 donation to Living Beyond Breast Cancer for every procedure we book on our website. We hope that this will lead more patients to get the care they need, such as annual mammograms. By contributing to Living Beyond Breast Cancer, Save On Medical supports LBBC’s mission to offer programs and services to more women affected by breast cancer.
Patients will see that by booking through Save On Medical, they can afford quality health care procedures. Since 70% of specialist referrals come from primary care physicians, we invite them, and physicians of all kinds, to keep this promotion in mind for referral decisions when prescribing diagnostic imaging services to uninsured or under-insured patients. Self-pay MRIs, affordable CT scans, low cost x-rays and mammograms are commonly needed services for uninsured patients and it is necessary for physicians to share resources like Save On Medical with them when they are price shopping.
On a mission to provide affordable, quality care to uninsured and under-insured patients; Save On Medical offers services such as Mammograms at a third of the average cost in areas across the country. With 16% of the country uninsured, price shopping for health care is on the rise. It is important for women to know that they have options when it comes to their care, especially during Breast Cancer Awareness Month when the reminder of early detection and awareness is fresh. Be sure to remind your loved ones to take an active role in their breast health, to perform self-exams and get their annual mammograms if they are 40+ years old.
